    Food Drive

    Maine Township Democrats Food Drive

    Food pantries are often overwhelmed with donations around the holidays but the need for donations doesn’t end when the holidays do. Spring is an often overlooked time for food donations. Stop by the Des Plaines Ace Hardware on 3/20 to drop off some cans or boxes of food.

    Donations will support the Maine Township Food Pantry and the Self-Help Food Pantry of Des Plaines.

    Needed donations include:

    • Boxed Pasta, Macaroni & Cheese, Ramen
    • Small canned main dishes (Spaghetti-Os, etc.)
    • Cereal, Instant Oatmeal, Old-Fashioned Oatmeal
    • Canned/Pouch Tuna, Chicken, or Salmon
    • Plain Rice, Rice-A-Roni
    • Canned Fruit, Apple Sauce
    • Crackers
    • Instant Potatoes, Canned White Potatoes
    • Cans of Baked Beans (16 oz cans)
    • Canned Veggies – NOT corn or green beans
    • Peanut Butter, Jelly (18 oz. maximum size)
    • Bisquick, Pancake Mix, Syrup
    • Prepared Meals – Canned Pasta Meals, Boxed Meals
    • Desserts – Cake, Cookie, & Brownie Mixes, Jell-O, Pudding, Cookies, Frosting
    • Condiments – Ketchup, Mayonaise, Mustard,
    • Pickles, BBQ Sauce
    • Beverages – Coffee, Tea, Hot Cocoa, Juice, Juice Boxes, Kool-Aid
    • Cooking Supplies – Flour, Sugar, Oil, Salt, Pepper
    • Cleaning Products – Laundry Soap, Dish Soap
    • Paper Products – Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, Kleenex
    • Storage Products – Tin Foil, Plastic Wrap
    • Personal Hygiene Products – Shampoo, Toothpaste, Bath SoapGround coffee
    • Pet Products (Cat Food, Dog Food)
    • Meal shakes for people with diabetes (Glucerna or generic)
    • Postage stamps

    Clothing:
    Pantries ARE NOT currently accepting clothing at this time due to Covid-19.
